Houston’s Graffiti Art: Visual Activism

Nimra Haroon is interning at Houston History and is in her final year at the University of Houston. She is studying advertising, energy and sustainability, Spanish, and certifying in nonprofit leadership. An enthusiast of art and culture, she began photographing graffiti in her travels and has since researched the history of graffiti and street art in Houston and elsewhere. She published an article, “Houston’s Graffiti Culture,” published in “Houston History” magazine’s Spring 2015 issue.
