Lindsay Scovil holds a Master of Arts in Public History from the University of Houston. She is the associate editor of Houston History and the editor of the Handbook of Houston, a joint project between the Houston History Alliance and the Texas State Historical Association. Lindsay maintains the online exhibit A Market for Death: The Use and Abuse of Cadavers in Nineteenth-Century America, originally a part of her master’s thesis, which explores the commodification of human remains for both medical and entertainment purposes.
